Weekly Bible Study

Join Pastor Sharon Baily each week for a blog Bible study!

Pastor Bailey will post the study on the blog and you can come by and comment for the next 14 days. After 14 days, the comments for that study will close.

We encourage everyone to participate with comments and questions. The more we connect, the more we grow together in business and in Christ.

The Grace of God

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.(Ephesians 2:8-9).

Thank the Lord none of us can boast saying or think that “ I did it all by myself. “

Colossians 3:1-2

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Let us look and see here, Paul made two specific point being led by the Holy Spirit he pointed out that we need to set our HEARTS  and MINDS not on earthly things but on things that are above since, we have been raised with Christ. Nothing is wrong with having earthly things however, when we set our hearts and continues to think about it with our minds, we are not operating with the Kingdom of God principles. The Spirit of God through the Apostle Paul is letting us know that this present life we are living in,  we will not remain on this earth forever. Therefore, we will need to set our priority in order, and look towards eternity where Christ is seating, on the right hand of the Father.

Fasting (RAP)

Many believers for the new year has chosen to go on a fast. What a brilliant way to start of new year however, we must realize that with fasting we must Read and Pray or (RAP) that is reading the word of God.  Regardless the type of fast you are on it is important to know that first, we should be spending more time seeking the Lord, or else we will just be on a physical diet. There are many types of fast  recorded in  the bible, some of the men and women that fasted  are Daniel who fasted for 21days, our Lord Jesus Christ he fasted for 40 days, Esther fasted 3 days, Paul fasted for 3 days, Ezra fasted one night and many  others. Let us continue to fast and pray, draw near to God and He will draw near to you (James 4:8)

Entering God’s Rest

We have started a new year and how many of us will enter into God’s rest? Hebrews 4:1-16 teaches us about how we can enter into God’s rest. We can be assure that when we place our faith in the Jesus Christ and what He had done by the way of the cross we can enter into God’s rest. Are we going to continue to be as the Israelite when then saw the hands of God in operation yet they harden their hearts? Let us stop, think, and then ask ourselves am I resting in the Lord?
