Kingdom Women – Premier Issue June/July 2010

In This Issue:

Laying the Foundations
– start as we mean to go on

1 Sam 2:8.  He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’s, and he hath set the world upon them.

It is our intention to raise our sisters in Christ upwards and forwards in lifestyle and business so we can all inherit the throne of glory.

Personal Message from PaTrisha-Anne

It’s been a very exciting few weeks since the launch of CWUIB on Friday 14 May and Saturday 15 May.
You are reading the premier issue of Kingdom Women: Growing Together in Christ and in Business. We will be publishing each month – welcome and enjoy.

The whole team has been busy, we have some discount offers, fantastic educational seminars and of course, as I’ve just mentioned, our brand new newsletter.

First off I’d like to introduce myself to you as the Editor of this newsletter and our forthcoming Magazine, scheduled for early 2011.  I was born in South London and am currently living on the south coast of the United Kingdom. I’ve been an entrepreneur all my adult life in the fields of personal development and building a business from home.  As a single mom of three children for more than twenty-five years who also has the entrepreneurial spirit, I’m happy to say now in my late fifties I have yet another opportunity to share.  Writing is my passion and the good Lord has directed me towards Christian Women United In Business in order to share with all of you.
Now, enough about me; more importantly this is about our newsletter and you and how through CWUIB we can build a community of vibrant, entrepreneurial Christian women and spread the word – just as is clearly stated on the CWUIB home page Statement of Faith:

A Christian businesswoman is to model herself after the Proverbs 31 woman with her business coming after God and her family, using God’s principles to guide how her business is conducted and showing herself a wise steward of her God-given talents, abilities, skills and gifts.

Each month it is my responsibility to source and provide you with enjoyable, educational and fun news items and articles, so ladies now is the time to contribute to our community and not only give me your feedback of what you’d like to read about in your newsletter but also become an active part of the organization and share your knowledge with all of our readers. Please Contact Us and begin submitting your feedback and ideas for what you’d like to read.

Blessings,
PaTrisha-Anne Todd, LCSi
Editor

A Note From Our Founder

Stacey Virgo

As a business owner, I have attended several networking events, and I have experienced that everyone who attends wants to sell something. The most famous phrase used is “I need to talk to you, please call me.” When you call, either she cannot take your call or she is not interested. In addition, many groups charge membership fees which don’t include breakfast or lunch–that becomes a separate cost. At the end of the year, while closing your books, you realize that you have spent quite a bit on networking… [read more on cwuib.com]

Personal Development Series

by PaTrisha-Anne Todd

Check this out…Matthew 25, Verse 14 – 26. “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey who called his servants and entrusted his property to them. To one he gave five talents of money. To another he gave two talents. To another he gave one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more. So also the one with two talents gained two more, but the man who had received one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.”

In other words what type of journey are you on and are you really making best use of your God given talents?

Personal Development is a conscious journey of discovery and exploration to find your life purpose and business pathway. It’s also about choosing to win, not to lose, but to be triumphant and glorious in any quest you may decide to take.

The entrepreneurial spirit requires due diligence and application on a daily basis for any level of success to come for the fore.  Inspiration and motivation are part of that spirit.

Due diligence comes about with education.  I’d encourage you as apart of your personal and business growth to energize yourself daily with a dose of learning.  Attempt, to learn more about what you do know and even more about what you don’t know in your business area, that way you’ll become the expert your clients can look up to.

Passion for your life and for those around you is another personal development tool that can bring in good results. Passion will assist you to dis-empower those limiting beliefs you’ve experienced through the years about your lifestyle.

Personal development is a serious growth tool, which isn’t easy to stick to and can at times be hard work. The trick is to apply yourself in a smart way; SMART is an acronym for; Specific, Measureable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-framed.

If you’ve decided to change your life because you are sick and tired of having and living the same result then now is the perfect time for you to step up and make those changes.  All you need is to commit to change with determination in your heart to make a difference to your lifestyle and consistent and daily action.  A quick fix won’t give you what your heart sings for and what you know you really deserve.

There are many ways to skin a cat, so I’ve been told; yet there is only one way to make change.  Each month I’ll be discussing ways you can educate yourself about Personal Development and how you can step up, step forward and achieve more.

Today we will begin with who you are. I would suggest you begin a journal about you.  Journaling is an essential part of planning your life and having the opportunity to celebrate it.  Use your journal as a tool for mapping out your life, even more importantly your journal will help you whenever you become sidetracked or lost in your life purpose.  Your journal will act as an aide memoir to put you back on track and surge ahead to realise your dreams.

Write your life story up until today, don’t worry about your writing skill and spelling, just get on with it, and include all the good points, all the not so good points and your dreams and ambitions for your life and your business from this day forth. Don’t be shy; remember that no one but you will read your journal.  Include a photo of yourself as you are today.

Once you have begun your journal you’ll be able to slot your thoughts, goals and plans into a more structured representation of who you are and what you really want to become. Write away, dream to your hearts content and look out for the next part of your Personal Development plan.

Moving Forward…PaTrisha-Anne

Should You Write Articles or Blast Ads for Your Business?

by Mariangie Gonzalez

A few years ago people built their business online by posting ads everywhere, free ads, paid ads, ezine ads, etc. Today things have changed a little. Is not that ads don’t work anymore, it’s just that you should not be limiting yourself to just posting ads to promote your business.

When marketing your business, instead of spending your day posting ads everywhere and paying for advertising in many places, create a plan to write content articles or blog posts… this is a great and FREE way to get in front of your target market, especially if you’re just getting started in business and you don’t have much money to spend on marketing tools or advertising.
Spend most of your time creating content that will turn you into “THE expert”. But be careful! I don’t mean writing a great long copy ad and posting it “disguised as an article”. I mean real information that will actually help others.
How is that helpful to your business,  you ask?
  • people read content, they scan and skip ads
  • people save good content for later reference
  • people forward content to others who might be interested
  • people look for content to add to their newsletters or websites
  • people will see you as someone who knows, instead of someone who spams ads
  • people will be curious to know more about you and what else you’ve written
  • people will go to your site to see what you do
  • people will remember your name and if they need your product or service, they’ll Google you
  • speaking of Google, content will make you a Google “celebrity,” people will be able to find you through your content indexed by Google
Talk about the law of attraction here, huh? You will be attracting people; they will start contacting you for more information.
And if you keep adding content on a regular basis, you will be always in their minds and you’ll be perceived as a resource. They will actually look forward to hear from you.
Mariangie Gonzalez lives in Puerto Rico where she works full time as an Agronomist, owns a home-based business since 2004, and is the proud mother of two bright kids and two cute cats.  You can visit her web site www.mindbodyandpaw.com
